French Bluebells

2018

Beginning of  summer 2017 I took a trip to France and of course after short stay there I came back loaded with inspiration. I still  have plenty visual memories to inspire me for a long time but one of the most unexpected was these quick changing pictures of blue patches on the fields  along the road. They come and go from a certain angle as the road go up and down. Beautiful bluebell flowers, millions of them connecting the sky and the fields and creating this symbiosis of a new dimension were the horizon is melted into the blues and greens.

Nature

2018

It is the time when the sunflowers are about to open and you driving past beautiful fields along the road and the little poppy flowers are blooming at the edges along the road. You can smell the earthy freshness of a moisturising spring rain.

Heat 2

2018

Sometime words are too much to describe certain senses or feelings. Some splashes of paint can do this better if I got this right to convince the viewer of sensing what I did at this moment. It is more of a open heated space giving you the opportunities to have your own thoughts and enhance your own senses too.

Heat 1

2017

It is unusual to visualize senses of physical phenomena. “What are the right shapes and colours ?” Magma and bright sparkling colourful glows. Sensing the beauty of the heated earth.

Feather

2018

I stood in front of this very large canvas after long time waiting for nice and dry weather so I could paint it outside after I realized a long time ago that could not get it into my studio because the staircase is too narrow. Of course it was a very nice day, pleasant to be outside full of light and the freshness of the spring. Because of the size I wanted to keep the colour combination subtle, light and more pastel like. I was more interested in the variety of textures and layers. I had no name in my head just then and then this feather landed on my canvas, on a new freshly painted area. My first reaction was to quickly pull of my gloves which were stuck on my hands…., but then I looked at it from a distance and I thought:  Perfect! That is it!  I continued working on the large painting FEATHER. It has its name and I couldn't think of any better.

Yellow

2017

It was painted on a sunny warm day of the summer 2017.  The idea of this colour combination came very spontaneously. Low bright sun shine was coming direct in to my studio, it was almost blinding me, but at the same time bringing me so much instant happiness. I was very confident and comfortable with the two main colours. One is exactly the shadow of the other.
