Colours of hope and joy

Hope and joy are all positive emotions that are core to opening our hearts and our minds and can make us more receptive and creative. There are certain colours that help elicit these positive emotions. Happiness comes from enjoying something of pure pleasure and satisfaction. Hope is simply a wish for something you consider to be possible.  This work has painted edges so no need to frame, framing is optional.

Nature’s response - Diptych

The painting is a result of the artists sorrow of human tragedy during pandemic as well as how quickly nature can heal if only we let it. In a time of real struggle and battle with the corona virus, while  the whole world’s wheels have stopped turning, nature is proving that she can manage to restore itself. While Many people are asking when life will get back to normal after the COVID-19 crisis, we should be asking ourselves: what can we learn from our mistakes and build something better?   Constructed on a wood panel with 4,5 cm deep sides.

Colours of hope

The artist took a moment to look at her surroundings. What are the colours which most people see right now? Do they see bright and energetic colours like yellow, blue and green or do they see black, grey and brown which are often associated with secrets, uncertainty and seriousness. As a result of a peaceful moment a tranquil composition was born to restore the feelings and fill up the space with positive emotions.  

Hope and harmony - Four pieces

The artist build a spontaneous, heavy-textured composition of primary colours. Blue, the most calming colour, is most likely to give you peace, stability and guidance to hope. The primary colour, yellow produces a warming effect and arouses happiness. The soft green colour, which comes from yellow and blue combined, is essential to adding harmony. The painting focuses on enhancing happiness, hope and harmony and ultimately leads to more blissful living.

Reflections of birch trees

The artwork is an exploration of mirror effects of light and shadows created from a beautiful forest of birch trees near water with a haze of fog. The panel is constructed to a point of completion through a process of paint layering and specific application and delicate balance between chaos and structure with a ruthlessness in how information is selected and deleted. The painting seeks to provide a meditation on the fundamental nature and essence of basic human emotions. Water lilies

Inspired by long walks in nature and coming across little ponds and canals in the Netherlands covered in water lilies. The colours of the blooming lilies, the leaves and the sparkling water reflecting the summer sun. The painting is made with layers of contrasting blues including azure, mint greens, whites, nude and purple.

Flanders Fields

This painting is inspired by travelling through Flanders, seeing the fields of poppies and a most inspiring poem by John McCrae " In Flanders Fields"
The painting is made with layers of contrasting reds including carmine, magenta, terracotta, orange, metallic copper and azure blues and purple. The metallic copper paint cause an almost shimmering effect like a light breeze coming through the poppies at sunset.

Dust and scent of roses

This painting is inspired by the many roses in the Bulgarian rose valley situated in the central part of Bulgaria my country of origin.  It is not only the shades of rose colours I am fascinate by, but also the irresistible scent of this valley covered with fresh blooming roses in May and June. 

Shades of blue

 A painting with textured finishes. It has a beautiful flow of colour going from a warm yellow and gold  to an cold azure and turquoise, creating a feeling of the transition of warm air to cool fresh waters. 

Yellow fields

It was painted on a sunny warm day of the summer 2018. The idea of this colour combination came very spontaneously after several days of heat and bright sun.
This work belongs to a group of paintings New Materials. A group of artworks inspired by nature: the natural state of changing phenomena and the deconstruction thereof.
The painting has complimentary hand painted framing.

Contrast

2018

Diptych  Two canvases the same size build with a variety of heavy textures and many transparent and thick layers. There is obvious different appearance  between one and other. Dark and light where many hidden colours are shining through thin layers of paint. Progression of black and white where black is not just black and white is not just white.
